Have a sense of perspective. it s not as competitive. your aim is to enjoy it, isn t it? and that s it. they re a good mix of people. we re from probably seven or eight different clubs in the region. there s people who have turned up just to have a look who never played before and just come in and embrace the whole scenario. with not many walking rugby clubs in the area. some members travel from far and wide, still working, as this ex netball playing farmer from near rothbury in northumberland, who s made a round trip of more than 75 miles. everyone was so welcoming. i didn t feel that i was letting everyone down and you know, everyone drops the ball on occasion. and ijust loved playing a team sport again. i d forgotten how much i love playing team sports, which i haven t done for decades. the four year old club has grown steadily since being set up to promote fitness and mental wellbeing of the older generation with help currently from the sport works social enterprise. but it s that invite
