(suspenseful music stops) - [judith] hello? - [alan] honey, the best place right now is for me to stay exactly where i am, okay? The fire drills. you know, every building has this protocol that they have to go through. i had to blow it off, i was still at work, i was focused on what i had to do during the day. didn t really care. nothing s ever gonna happen here. so, i stand up at this point, i said, i m out of here, i can t. i can t do this anymore. i don t care. (suspenseful music plays) i gotta get out of the building , something was wrong. - and that was when the second building collapsed. - emergency people where coming down, no matter what. they didn t care (suspenseful music stop) (sirens wailing) welcome to allstate. where you can pay a little less and enjoy the ride a little more. now, get new lower auto rates with allstate. because better protection costs a whole lot less. ....
(suspenseful music plays) (people shouting) - [automated voice] when you have finished recording, you may hang up or press one for more options. - [lynne] christy, call me back, it s lynne. somebody screamed, the canadian desk was right near the window, and someone screamed, oh my god, they just hit the world trade center. - [unidentified woman] oh my god, they just blew up the top of the world trade center. my building shook like you would not believe. - [unidentified man] get out of here. - [unidentified woman] i can see it out my window, there s a big hole. - [narrator] the vibration from the explosion instantly reminds jerry kirkwood of the bombing of the world trade center from 1993. - [unidentified man] hey buddy, how you doing? you all right? - [jerry] i m doing fine, it just scared me for a minute because i was here when a bomb went off, like eight years ago. - [reporter] you are looking at the north building of the twin towers of the world trade center in manhattan. these ar ....
It s really the first time that i was worried i was going to lose something, you know, that was incredible to me and the most important thing to me. and so it s weird listening to this like little timid voice, you know, call the trading desk, asking for him. - the trip. (gregg exhaling from his nose) (phone ringing) - [jon] trading. - [unidentified man] (indistinct), please. - [jon] ah, off the desk. can someone else help you? - [unidentified man] yeah, did you guys see that plane crash? - [jon] oh, absolutely. i just kept on answering phone because they were ringing. people were concerned. i really wasn t. it was this strange calm about it. and, you know, still to this day i say to myself, why didn t i just get up and walked out? - [unidentified man] (indistinct) somebody just jumped. - [unidentified woman] shut up. - [unidentified man] yeah. it just keeps getting better and better. and they re (indistinct). - [unidentified woman] but it s not your building, right? - [unidentified m ....
- all you heard was trucks of emergency vehicles going downtown and the rest of the city was thick white. (truck rumbling) - [black-dressed man] don t run. only (indistinct). stop. only (indistinct). don t run. - and that was when the second building collapsed. - we look back, building was coming down. (suspenseful music) (ambulance wailing) and we just start running. get away from this, like, we gotta get up. and we ran up, and there was still- trucks were coming down. emergency people were coming down no matter what. they didn t care. (fire truck honks and wails) ....
