The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari; the Plateau State Governor Simon Lalong, former governors of Plateau, Jonah Jang and Fidelis Tapgun on Thursday expressed sadness over the death of a former Chief of Defence Staff, Lt. Gen. Joshua Dogonyaro (retd.)
It was learnt that Dogonyaro died in Jos on Thursday after a brief illness at the age of 80.
Recall that the former CDS read the coup speech that ended the regime of Nigeria’s current President, Buhari, and brought General Ibrahim Babangida (retd.) to power in1985. ....

Gen Joshua Dogonyaro saying the deceased was a professional who gave patriotic service to the country.
Wuyep, a Tarok by tribe just like the deceased noted that General Dogonyaro, a former ECOMOG Commander served not just the country but the West African subregion meritoriously while Jang, a former Military officer added the deceased was a father and mentor to all military officers from his Plateau State and beyond and Useni, a member of the erstwhile ‘Tarok Mafia’ stated, he was a courageous officer who made success in every operation he commanded. ....

WASHINGTON: The Army is negotiating with the Intelligence Community and Space Force about ensuring operational control of any future Army-built ISR payloads hosted on DoD, IC and/or commercial satellites, says Willie Nelson, the de facto head of Army space programs.
“This is a watershed,” said Doug Loverro, former head of DoD space policy and a long-time player in space intelligence operations. “It represents the increased importance of tactical overhead support to Army forces for long range fires.”
Why? If the service wins even a modicum of control over where future IC ISR birds are ‘pointed’ a prerogative the IC traditionally has zealously guarded it would represent a major break with the past. ....
