her own success. this is american voices. ♪ ♪ ♪ >> we begin this hour with a court ruling that threatens to ban access to medication abortion, not just i republican-controlled states that would be devastatin enough, but in every state i the nation even states where reproductive freedom is guaranteed like new york, california will be affected it all comes from one man, conservative judge out of texa with a long history of antiabortion beliefs friday night, good friday, u.s district judge matthew kacsmaryk suspended the fda' 20 year plus approval of mifepristone he then delay that ruling fo seven days, giving the government time to appeal. mifepristone is used i combination with a second drug to end pregnancies up to ten weeks. in suspending the fda approval of the drug would upend th battle over abortion access. medication abortion no accounts for about 53% of al abortions in the u.s., mor than half. if the texas ruling take effect, it would impact nearly all medication abortions adding to the legal confusion, also on friday, the federa judge in washington stat issued a separate order, sayin mifepristone is safe and effective.
