The fire started inside a retail store on Mission Street between 22nd and 23rd streets. At least four people were treated for smoke inhalation. Katie marzullo is live at the scene. The top two floors were all storage and there was so much stuff in there they could not get into those areas, they pulled everyone out and then they were able to breakthrough some windows that had bars on them, and thats when flames shot through the roof. Two firefighters were injured in this mornings fire. This is the fifth deadly fire in Montgomery County this year. Smoke poured out of the windows and roof of this home early this morning after a fire level,through the split ultimately claiming the life of an 81yearold woman. This is very sad. Very sad. Montgomery county fire officials tell us the fire started in the basement of the house around 4 30. The man who lived in the basement was able to get out on his own and told firefighters his mother was still inside on the second floor. An old lady. She seemed very nice. Firefighters went in through an upstairs window. Abc 7 cameras were there as the injured woman was pulled from the home. The woman was taken to the hospital where she later died. Two of the firefighters involved in that initial rescue were taken to the hospital as well. Minor injuries and things of that nature.
