good morning and welcome to news 4 midday. i m barbara harrison. it s esday, december 7, 20. we begin with the cold and windy conditions out there. take a look outside. the sun is out. but it s not doing much to warm things up. tom kierein joins us with the first forecast. tom, it feels like february in washington. it is like the middle of winter. we ve had this unusual pattern thanks to, i should say, blame on an area of low pressure, an enormous deep area of low pressu spitting its way or eastern canada and bringing us these cold winds. this is unusually cold for december. our average high this time of year is 49 degrees. right now it s only 33 at reagan national. it s still below freezing throughout most of the region except southern maryland, northern neck of va vanned the chesapeake bay, low to mid 30s there. farther to our west and north, it s still only around 30 degrees. the winds are making it feel even colder. these are the windchills. this is what it feel ....
