　　据介绍，分布式驱动的轮毂电机技术，是电动汽车驱动的终极解决方案。相对于中央电机，轮毂电机干掉了变速箱、传动轴和机械差速器，以分布式驱动和线性控制，可全面满足未来汽车出行更安全、更绿色、更便捷，也更愉悦的需求。
　　一是非接触传动可以实现零维护成本，以及百万公里零故障，更具可靠性；二是线控动力比传统动力反应时间快10倍，解决了智能汽车系统延时问题，更具安全性；三是在驱动、制动、能量回收、差速转向、数据采集等方面的智能化应用潜力巨大；四是以高出中央电机30%的传动效率和能量回收效率以及车身的轻量化，不仅可以降低综合成本，还可最大限度地减少碳排放，是汽车产业实现“双碳”目标的重要措施。

　　享有“中国轮毂电机第一人”之誉的天津天海同步集团董事长、天津天海轮毂电机有限公司董事长吕超，在会上抛出了轮毂电机产业化的路径判断：从商用车开始，然后乘用车；从高端整车开始，然后全行业推广；从国产车开始，然后国际市场。
　　吕超的这一思路，得到了上海交通大学汽车研究院副院长、汽车电子控制技术国家工程实验室副主任殷承良教授的高度肯定，也得到与会专家的一致认同。
　　其次，商用车轮毂电机生产基地建设已经起步。以T160、T115、T15三大产品为平台，天海轮毂电机有限公司已着手建设年产5000套商用车轮毂电机的生产基地。
　　更为重要的一点，汽车产业减排是实现“双碳”目标的重要措施，而“商用车则是达成双碳无标的重中之重”。付于武在此次研讨会上反复强调这一点。
　　天津大学环境学院周志华教授做了一个初步估算：一辆装配THIM轮毂电机的公交车，跑40万公里报废，全生命周期可降碳110吨。全国85万辆公交车若全部采用轮毂电机驱动，一年减少的二氧化碳排放可达0.5亿吨，占全国一年降碳任务的0.5%，效果非常可观。
　　此次中国轮毂电机产业化研讨会，专家阵容豪华、产学研用顶级配置。基于专家们的判断，看到轮毂电机技术的广阔发展前景和蕴藏的巨大商机，地平线机器人、天津银隆、江苏吉泰科、浙江大学与天海轮毂电机有限公司签订了合作协议，立志共为轮毂电机产业化破局。
