North Korea's Kim purges ex-foreign minister, South Korean lawmakers say

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has purged a former foreign minister who played an instrumental role in his summits with former U.S. President Donald Trump in 2018-19, South Korean lawmakers said on Thursday, citing intelligence officials. Biden, Japan's Kishida to meet at White House on Jan. 13

U.S. President Joe Biden will hold talks with Japan Prime Minister Fumio Kishida at the White House on Jan. 13 to discuss North Korea, Ukraine, China's tensions with Taiwan, and a "free and open Indo-Pacific," the White House said on Tuesday.
