Strategy and design agency DrawHistory has rebranded, as well as adding staff and revealing a new purpose statement to reaffirm its remit to tackle social issues.
The agency has unveiled its new positioning statement, in which its rebrand is rooted: “Designing new futures for people who need tomorrow to be better than today.”

DrawHistory has also unveiled its new logo, as well as growing its roster with key hires from Google and Wikipedia, and announcing expanded services into social research, community engagement, and public relations.

Nine News Sydney diverts to Melbourne after technical glitch

Nine News Sydney was briefly forced off the air on Monday night, with Nine diverting the feed to Nine News Melbourne for a short period of time.
The bulletin cut out and news anchor Peter Overton was replaced on NSW screens by Melbourne’s Peter Hitchener, and then switched back to the Sydney studio several minutes later.
That left sports presenter Cam Williams on screen, who blamed technical issues… “But it’s great to have you with us. Stick around, anything could happen.”
A short time later, Hitchener tweeted: “It was because of some technical issues at Nine Sydney, which were sorted out after a few minutes.”

The second season of Emergency, an in-depth look at the Royal Melbourne Hospital’s Emergency Department, will premiere on Nine today at 9:00pm.
The show will continue to look at the frontline of one of Australia’s busiest hospitals, diving into the lives of doctors and nurses, with Nine getting unprecedented access to the inner workings of the hospital.

Nine revealed that old favourites will return, including Dr Mya and husband Dr Bjorn, Dr Jonathan, Dr Emma, and doctors Sarah, Michael, and Michelle.

The digital advertising market in Australia grew significantly in the March quarter, with figures from IAB Australia showing year-on-year growth to $2.883 billion.
Search and directories were up 26.5%, while general display increased by 28.9% and classifieds went up 18.5%.

The data comes from the IAB Australia Online Advertising Expenditure Report (OAER), prepared by PwC, and suggests that digital advertising in Australia is outpacing the overall ad market.
IAB Australia CEO Gai Le Roy said the figures were clear signs that the market is rebounding, reflecting increasing consumer confidence.

Southern Cross Austereo (SCA) has made a series of appointments within its strategy and insights division, with new roles for John Musgrove, Abi Wallis and Jasmine Beech.
The trio of changes reflect SCA’s digital audio strategy focus and the increasing importance of data and insights, the company said.

Ten has revealed that the forthcoming season of Australian Survivor will have a new Brains V Brawn format, pitting muscle against book smarts.
The series, produced by Endemol Shine Australia for Network Ten, will once again be hosted by Jonathan LaPaglia, and is the sixth edition of the show featuring Australian contestants.
Ten said the new season will again feature castaways from all walks of life, and warns viewers not to be fooled into thinking that the Brains team will be at a disadvantage, teasing that the team will be full of experts in their chosen field.

HT&E is set to free up more capital with the sale of its 25% stake in mobile messaging software group Soprano Design.
In an announcement on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX), HT&E Limited announced that a non-binding agreement has been signed for shareholders of Soprano to sell their entire holdings to Link Mobility Group Holdings as (LINK).
The Norwegian LINK is a global Communications Platform as a Service provider, and a leading mobile messaging provider in Europe. The company will pay NOK 3,590 million, or approximately AU$560 million in cash and equity.

The new iteration of game show Weakest Link will return to Australian television on 25 May, airing on Channel Nine and 9Now at 9:00pm.
Szubanski will take the helm of the reimagined Weakest Link, putting contestants up against once another, with a cash jackpot of up to $250,000 for the winner.
Each episode will see eight contestants enter the Weakest link studio, taking turns to work together towards the maximum cash prize. Questions are general knowledge, and as a team, they build chains of correct answers to increase the jackpot.

Incorrect answers, meanwhile, break the chain and decrease the money available, and contestants vote to eliminate the ‘weakest link’ at the end of each round.
