Sidcup: Emily West and her family, two of which have suffered from the rare new Covid-linked condition called PIMS-TS.
A Sidcup mum has spoken out about the frightening experience of having two of her sons rushed to hospital with a rare new Covid-linked syndrome found in children.
Emily West s children are among the first in the world to have multiple siblings suffer the affects of the new condition, which emerged in April last year with a cluster of cases in south east London, specifically the Thamesmead and Woolwich areas.

Experts from the Evelina Children s Hospital are trying to alert parents to the dangers and symptoms of the rare new inflammatory disease affecting children and linked to coronavirus.
The rare condition emerged after a cluster of cases in south east London in May last year, seemingly triggered by Covid-19, leaving dozens of children in hospital and some as young as 14 even dying.

Grappling with the worst coronavirus outbreak in the nation, Gov. Bill Lee will mandate social gathering restrictions but refuses to require mask-wearing in Tennessee as the deadly illness rampages the state, stretching hospitals to their limits and claiming more than 6,000 lives.
Lee announced a new 10-person public gathering restriction in a live video address Sunday night. He also urged Tennesseans to gather with people only within their household for Christmas and asked employers to allow employees to work from home for the next 30 days. The gathering restrictions, enacted by an executive order expiring Jan. 19, will not apply to at-home events or churches. ....
