Los Angeles Dodgers middle infielder Gavin Lux strained his left hamstring running to first base in the ninth inning of Sunday's game at the Colorado Rockies:
On Monday, the Dodgers placed Lux on the 10-day injured list for the first time in his MLB career. In a corresponding roster move, Los Angeles recalled outfielder Zach Reks from Triple-A Oklahoma City.
Per Eric Stephen of True Blue LA, manager Dave Roberts said on Sunday that Lux would undergo an MRI Monday to determine the seriousness of the setback.

We know that in many corners of baseball, bunting to try to break up a no-hitter is one of the sport’s cardinal sins. However, how about bunting while trailing 13-0?
That is what Los Angeles Angels right fielder Taylor Ward tried to do in the fifth inning of Saturday’s game against the Los Angeles Dodgers. With the Angels down 13-0 in the fifth, Ward tried to bunt for a hit with a runner on first and one out.
The Dodgers were not impressed. Pitcher Clayton Kershaw even appeared to be muttering about how “stupid” it was, and the team actually seemed fairly animated about it.

It took four hours and 23 minutes, three different comebacks from being down a run and a game-winning hit from a guy who was supposed to be getting the night off, but after all of those things happened, the Cubs had a thrilling 6-5, 11-inning win over the visiting Dodgers and a three-game series sweep just at the time they needed one. They’ve also won five of their last seven games.

The Dodgers will send the top three of their rotation to the mound at Wrigley Field, with Walker Buehler, Clayton Kershaw, and Trevor Bauer all pitching against the Cubs, and all on five days rest. Starting pitching has been the backbone of the team to date, near the top of the league in several categories and lasting deeper into games than any other staff. Though in the last two weeks, even great starting pitching hasn’t mattered much because of an offense that has gone long stretches with very little production.
