The U.S. Department of State, following the Pentagon, announced its concern over reports of an escalation of tensions on the contact line in Donbas, the U.S. Department of State spokesperson Ned Price said at a briefing on Thursday.

The Pentagon made good on a Biden campaign pledge, formally sweeping away policies instituted by former President Donald Trump that prevented transgender people from serving in the military.
The new policy, approved by Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, went into effect on Wednesday, which is International Transgender Day of Visibility.
“There’s no place for violence and discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity or expression or sex characteristics,” Pentagon spokesman John Kirby told reporters. ....
