The Congressional Hispanic Caucus is urging Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin to prevent the enlistment of individuals in the military with ties to white supremacist ideologies or groups, according to a letter sent to the Pentagon on Tuesday that was exclusively obtained by CBS News. 
The group requested a meeting with Austin by the end of April to discuss the issue. 
As members of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, we write to express our concerns about extremism within the United States military, especially white supremacy, and right-wing radicalism within the ranks, the letter states.   ....

HONOLULU (AP) The Hawaii National Guard said Tuesday it will deploy about 80 members to Washington, D.C. until early May to help support the U.S. Capitol Police.
The Hawaii Department of Defense said in a news release that the Guard members will patrol and provide security as part of the National Guard s “Task Force Capitol.”
Last week, the Pentagon said nearly 2,300 Guard troops would continue to provide security in Washington until May 23, at the request of the Capitol Police.
The Hawaii National Guard in January sent 200 Guardsmen to Washington for two weeks to help with security after rioters attacked the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. ....

The Western Pacific island of Guam was trending on Twitter after Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) referred to the U.S territory as a foreign land, like China and Russia, in a video.
The island was a major U.S. Naval and Air Force base during World War II, and the Guam Organic Act of 1950 made Guam an unincorporated territory of the United States, transferring jurisdiction from the U.S. Navy to the Department of the Interior (DOI).
Anyone born in Guam is automatically a U.S. citizen. ....
