Breaking News | Breaking News Hoodlums attack four Amotekun personnel in Oyo

Four personnel of the Oyo State Security Network otherwise called Amotekun Corps are currently battling for their lives at a hospital in the state after being attacked by hoodlums in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Friday.
The personnel and some policemen were reportedly attacked by hoodlums at Odeyale area of Ona Ara Local Government Area of Oyo State before noon. The men were said to have been hacked with axe and other dangerous weapons.
It was gathered that four of the Amotekun personnel are currently at the Intensive Care Unit of the University College Hospital, Ibadan.
Confirming the incident, the Amotekun Commandant in the state, Col. Olayinka Olayanju (retd.), said in a statement that the personnel moved to the area following a distress call by Odeyale Community Landlord Association. ....

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State on Monday declared that the state government has turned the heat on kidnappers and criminals in Ibarapa and Oke-Ogun axis of the state.
Makinde who made this declaration during his visit to different spots in Ibarapaland said that his administration will get the criminals to account for their heinous acts in the state.
Noting that the state could not afford further loss of lives, he avowed that his government had put measures in place to deal with criminals.
Some of these measures, according to Makinde, include the setting up of a peace and security committee at the local government levels and the stepping up intelligence gathering in the area. ....

Breaking News | Breaking News Amotekun mops eight sacks of charms, other weapons from kidnappers in Oyo

The Amotekun Corps, otherwise called the Oyo State Security Network, said on Tuesday in Ibadan that no fewer than eight sacks of dangerous weapons, including amulets and charms were seized recently from bandits and kidnappers within the forests across Oyo State.
The state Chairman of Amotekun Corps, Gen. Kunle Togun (retd.), made the disclosure on Tuesday, saying that the success made by the Corps was aided by the collaboration with the local hunters under the aegis of Hunters Association of Nigeria.
The hunters, according to Toogun, helped in making the forest operations a success. He stressed that the team were able to disarm the foreign bandits, who were armed with guns, poisoned arrows, poisoned cutlass, knives and dangerous amulets, charms in the forests which filled eight sacks. ....

The Special Adviser to the Oyo State Governor, Fatai Owoseni has asked operatives of the State Security Network, codenamed Operation Amotekun, to operate within the ambit of the law.
Owoseni made this call on Friday during an interview on Channels Television’s
