Yikes, a bunch of high school students got their hopes up.
According to WLEX-TV, the University of Kentucky accidentally sent 500,000 acceptance emails to thousands of high school students. In fact, several of those students hadn t even applied to the university and yet received the email as as error.
Mary Dougherty, a senior in San Antonio, Texas, was among those who received the email.
I was like, Mom, I just got accepted into the University of Kentucky, Doughtery told WLEX-TV. And she s like, Oh, I didn t know you applied to University of Kentucky. And I was like, oh, I did not. ....

Hyderabad: A gradual decrease is being witnessed in the number of engineering colleges in Telangana. The statistics released by the All India Council for Educational Education (AICTE) revealed that during the current academic year 86 engineering colleges did not apply for recognition and affiliation from AICTE. This clearly means that 86 engineering colleges have been closed down.
The AICTE officials said during the last three years the number of engineering colleges in Telangana has been decreased. ....

Spelman College has always had a robust recruiting season, with around 700 recruiters from companies and graduate schools coming to campus over the course of an academic year. But last year, the school saw a similar level of interest in just one semester.
In response to last year’s resurgence of the Black Lives Matter movement following another spate of killings of Black Americans by police, various companies large and small have committed to recruiting fresh graduates, making donations, or finding other ways to get involved with America’s historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs), including Spelman.
Harold Bell, director of Spelman’s office of career planning and development, says his seven-person department has been flooded with emails and phone calls from hundreds of companies, each armed with a list of diversity recruitment initiatives. Bihar issues new COVID-19 guidelines as cases surge
The Nitish Kumar government in Bihar on Saturday came out with a number of fresh restrictions to contain the spread of COVID-19, which has seen a country-wide surge in the recent past. Guidelines were issued by the state s home department after a high-level meeting, chaired by Kumar, reviewed the situation in Bihar.
Reopening of schools and colleges, which were scheduled on April 5, shall now be deferred till April 11 and all institutions have been directed to reschedule tests and examinations accordingly, the department said in a release.
Deployment of additional police force at bus terminuses, railway stations, vegetable markets and eating joints to ensure social distancing and prevent overcrowding has also been ordered. ....
