Food On The Move Brings Back Community Block Parties To Help Feed Tulsa

A local nonprofit dedicated to fighting food insecurity is resuming its monthly block parties featuring entertainment, food trucks and fresh produce on a "pay as you can" model.
Food On The Move is at Chamberlain Park at 4940 N Frankfort Ave. Tuesday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. They’ll be back there the third Tuesday of every month the rest of the year. Starting July 27, Food On The Move will be at Greenwood Cultural Center, 322 N Greenwood Ave., the fourth Tuesday of each month. In September, they’ll add a stop at Tulsa Community College Northeast Campus, 3727 E Apache St.

It was about creating a space for healing, for love, and for beauty.
In the weeks leading up to the Tulsa Race Massacre centennial commemoration tensions were high. But in the midst of the chaos and emotion, a unique project was orchestrated- Send Flowers to Greenwood.
From the moment she saw the idea, Bailey Robinson, owner of Crooked Roots Design in Claremore, knew she had to get involved.
The project was simple, but the impact was profound.

Our Spanish Storytime (Mondays at 6:30 PM) now has optional materials families can check out with their library card to help everyone read and sing along. Bags are not required to participate.
 
 
Join us on the Library lawn (on Greenwood Ave.) for Family Storytime (Thursdays at 10:30) and Wiggle Storytime (Fridays at 10:30). These 2 storytimes are for ages 1-4 and their families and include songs, stories and lots of fun! Masks and social distancing will be required.
