Anthony Sabatini Demands Criminal Investigation into Gretchen Whitmer

24 May 2021
Florida State Rep. Anthony Sabatini (R) has demanded Florida’s Attorney General open a criminal investigation into Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) Monday over a scandal allegedly involving a secretly chartered flight to visit her father in Florida.
Sabatini exclusively shared his request with Breitbart News in which he asks Republican Attorney General Ashley Moody to investigate if Whitmer “misused her public office and violated several Florida Statues while traveling through Florida.”
“If Governor Whitmer is found to have violated Florida Law, she should be prosecuted to the fullest extent possible,” Sabatini wrote.
“It is clear based on the definition of ‘public servant’ in Florida Statutes that this state has jurisdiction over Governor Whitmer based on her actions while traveling in this state,” Sabatini argued. “The statute defines a public servant as “any officer of a governmental entity… including any executive… branc ....

Florida Supreme Court Rejects Ballot Initiative Aimed at Legalizing Recreational Marijuana

Florida Supreme Court Rejects Ballot Initiative Aimed at Legalizing Recreational Marijuana
The Florida Supreme Court on April 22 rejected a ballot initiative (pdf) aimed at allowing people to vote on the legalization of recreational marijuana, saying it would be “misleading” to voters.
In a 5-2 ruling, the Supreme Court said the initiative’s language wording that people see when they cast ballots that it “permits” marijuana use by adults “misleads voters into believing that the recreational use of marijuana in Florida will be free of any repercussions, criminal or otherwise.”
The ruling came after Republican Attorney General Ashley Moody asked the court to advise whether the potential constitutional initiative would be suitable for a future ballot. ....

Gov. Ron DeSantis on Tuesday declared the ecological emergency ended at the old Piney Point fertilizer plant in Manatee County, which forced release of hundreds of millions of gallons of polluted water, and announced plans to permanently close the facility.
“We want this to be the last chapter of the Piney Point story,” the governor said during a news conference at the site. “So, today I’m directing the Department of Environmental Protection to create a plan to close Piney Point.”
DeSantis said the Department of Environmental Protection would spend $15.4 million to develop “innovative technology to pretreat water at the site for nutrients so that, in the event that further controlled discharges are needed, any potential adverse environmental impacts such as algal blooms and fish kills are mitigated.” ....

Florida sues CDC to get cruises sailing immediately

.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said Thursday that the state has filed a lawsuit against the federal government demanding that cruises be allowed to resume from the United States immediately.
We don t believe the federal government has the right to mothball a major industry for over a year based on very little evidence and very little data, DeSantis, a Republican, said in a news conference at Miami s seaport. I think we have a good chance for success.
The lawsuit against the Biden administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention asks the court to set aside the CDC s unlawful actions and hold that cruises should be allowed to operate with reasonable safety protocols. ....
