Natchez Police Chief Joseph Daughtry says 20-year-old Cameron Washington and his mother 41-year-old Caronda Washington have been arrested and are being held without bond.
Cameron Washington is identified as the fourth shooter in a June 6, 2020 incident where a car parked in front of an apartment building had been shot into. Two people were injured.
Three men were arrested for the crime last year but Washington had been on the run. Chief Daughtry says Caronda Washington was arrested for aiding in the prevention of her son’s arrest. She was out of jail on a $20,000 dollar bond. ....

A Natchez mother has been arrested for preventing her child from being arrested in a 2020 shooting.On March 3, Natchez police arrested Caronda Washington, 41, for hindering prosecution in the first degree and aiding in the prevention of the arrest of her son, Cameron Washington, 20.On June 6, 2020, Natchez police responded to a report of shots fired at 601 Old Washington Road. Bullet holes were found in the front windshield of a 2004 Nissan in addition to other parts of the surrounding apartment building. Two victims were transported to Merit Health in Natchez where one was later released and the other was transferred to UMMC in Jackson.Police said sever ....

NATCHEZ, Miss. (WLBT) - The Natchez Police Department is looking for a suspect in connection to a 2020 attempted murder investigation.
On June 6, 2020 officers responded to a report of shots fired on Old Washington Rd. Officers found damage to a parked 2004 Nissan in front of an apartment building with a possible bullet hole in the front windshield.
While officers were at the scene they were notified of two gunshot victims at Merit Health Natchez. One of the victims was treated locally and released. The other victim was transported to UMMC in Jackson. ....

Christine D’Souza Gelb, the veteran independent film financing and sales executive, has launched a new production and management venture with Killer Films executive David Hinojosa and Kevin Rowe as founding partners.
Named 2AM, the venue brings together a trio of considerable indie film players and boasts backing from one of the space’s most premium brands: A24.

There are millions of musicians in the world - but there s only one Leroy Jones. The film follows the historic life journey of the famed trumpeter and legend as he comes up in the projects of the 7th ward in New Orleans.
By the time he was 12 years old, Leroy s talent was apparent and his devotion to both his city and his craft never wavered. A young Jones leads the brass band revival of the 70 s in NOLA leading to the creation of the Fairview Baptist Church Band, and the Hurricane Brass Band.
