Filming of Showtime's 'Dexter' moves from Worcester to Grafton; show stars Michael C. Hall

GRAFTON - Winter is coming - again - thanks to the filming of “Dexter,” this time in Grafton.
Looking like a picture print by Currier and Ives, the yard at 3 Chestnut St. was covered in a fresh bed of (fake) snow on Sunday, in preparation for a “slay” ride Monday with everybody’s favorite fictional serial killer, Dexter.
Filming of the “Dexter” reboot - which seems like it’s been going on in Central Mass. almost as long as the run of the original Showtime series - has moved to Grafton. Filming took place in Worcester last week.
Starting starts Monday. The house on Chestnut Street doubles as the home of one of the lead female characters on the show.

Snow on Colby Avenue, as film crews from "Dexter" get set to shoot a winter scene on Friday.
WORCESTER — No, Worcester didn’t experience an early frost — it’s just the icy fingers of “Dexter,” everybody’s favorite fictional serial killer, taking over a (fake) snow-covered suburban neighborhood off Lincoln Street for a full day of filming Friday.
Looking like the Christmas that time forgot, a half-dozen homes on both sides of Colby Avenue on Thursday evening were being covered with fake snow, garland, colored lights and inflatable holiday decorations in anticipation for Showtime’s iceman cometh in residence.

A pair of “Road Closed” signs bookended Colby Avenue as filming for the television show “Dexter” continued in Worcester on Friday afternoon.
Earlier in the day Friday, crews placed the finishing touches to the set, which began to transform into a winter wonderland on Thursday. Snow-like foam covered the yards of several homes on Colby Avenue. Christmas decorations and lights sat in yards and wrapped around porches.
Electricians were on site Friday morning to add lighting from telephone poles. Crews watered down Colby Avenue under Interstate 290 to replicate a slick winter road.

The smell of propane and smoke wafted through Colby Avenue in Worcester on Thursday as television set crews tried to turn the neighborhood into a winter wonderland despite temperatures nearing 70 degrees.
As part of set for the television show “Dexter”, crews covered yards with what appeared to be white tarps, acting as snow. They also placed fluffy cotton-like strips along sidewalks and stairways. Members of the crew then placed lit propane torches near the material to keep it in place and add a snow-like affect.

Woman gets probation in vehicle thefts | News, Sports, Jobs

YOUNGSTOWN — An assistant prosecutor called Abigail L. Acosta, 23, of Victor Avenue, “a small cog in a fairly large theft ring” as he asked Judge Maureen Sweeney of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court on Monday to give her three years of probation.
The judge agreed, also ordering Acosta to perform five days of community service.
Assistant Prosecutor Rob Andrews said that as part of Acosta’s plea agreement, she must continue to cooperate with prosecutors and the Ohio State Highway Patrol, which investigated the vehicle thefts.
If Acosta fails to live up to the terms of her agreement, prosecutors will ask the judge to revoke her probation, Andrews said.
