View Comments OSHKOSH - The Winnebago County Health Department will offer free walk-in COVID-19 vaccinations to anyone over the age of 12 every Wednesday afternoon through the end of June. In a Tuesday afternoon news release, the department said the vaccination clinics will be open from 1 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays at Sunnyview Expo Center, 500 E. County Road Y. Appointments are not required, the health department said, and all three vaccines will be available to choose from. Pfizer is currently the only vaccine available to all individuals aged 12 and older. Anyone under the age of 18 should be accompanied by a parent or guardian. ....
Apr 30, 2021 | 2:42 PM Winnebago County is switching operations at its vaccination clinic at the Sunnyview Expo Center in Oshkosh. Every Wednesday in May will be “Walk-In Wednesdays”–where appointments will not be required to get a shot. Wednesdays will also feature the single-dose Johnson and Johnson vaccine–which means recipients would be considered fully-vaccinated two weeks after getting their shots. Meanwhile, next week will be the last week that those using the vaccination clinic at the Fox Cities Exhibition Center in Appleton will be able to get a first dose of the Pfizer vaccine. The Health Department is looking to shut down the facility at the end of May–meaning those getting a first dose next week would get their second shot right before closure. ....

People were able to just walk right in and get a COVID-19 vaccine at the Sunnyview Expo Center in Oshkosh on Wednesday. “Our desire to do this was to just reduce barriers to people getting in here, and sometimes getting that vaccine appointment is a barrier,” said Winnebago County Public Health Supervisor Kim Goffard. “Perhaps you’re not very good with the Internet or you’ve been on hold for getting an appointment time, or maybe there are appointment times that just don’t work with your schedule. By offering walk-in times, people can really just come when it works for them.” ....
