(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RAMALLAH, Feb 20 (KUNA) Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Saturday issued a decree on promoting public freedoms across the country. The move stresses boosting public freedoms including the freedom of political and national action, in line with the basic law and relevant laws, Palestine news agency (Wafa) reported. The decree provides for banning the arrest, detention, or holding to account, individuals for reasons relating to the freedom of opinion and political affiliation, it added. It also stipulates an immediate release of any detainees or prisoners held in custody, based on practicing the freedom of opinion, political affiliation or for any other partisan reasons. ....
