Does Oklahoma Legislature consider constitutionality of legislation?

Oklahoman
Local state and federal courts have found these laws, crafted by Oklahoma s Legislature, are partially or wholly unconstitutional, although some of the rulings are still under appeal.
The Oklahoma Legislature has a history of passing bills that are later struck down by the courts as unconstitutional.
Passing laws that are later overturned by the courts is not an issue specific to Oklahoma. Nor is the trend limited to the current Republican-led leadership at the state legislature.
But critics say the legislature sometimes knowingly advances unconstitutional legislation, which they argue is a waste of time and taxpayer money when Oklahoma s attorney general has to defend those laws in court. ....

The past week at the state Capitol was one of the busiest and most contentious this session, filled with political squabbles, impromptu protests and the last large legislative deadline.
Early in the week, Republican leaders in the House and Senate disagreed on a bill that would push back against what they’ve called federal overreach.
This later led to Senate Pro Tem Greg Treat, R-Oklahoma City, facing calls for removal from the Oklahoma Second Amendment Association.
Dozens of association members came to the Capitol to protest Treat’s decision to change the federal-pushback bill that he said was unconstitutional. The group later apologized to Treat. ....

Kamala Harris sex joke has Oklahoma state lawmaker unrepentant, with no plans to be 'politically correct'

Former acting DHS secretary Chad Wolf discusses Arizona s emergency declaration due to the border crisis and Vice President Harris upcoming meeting with the president of Guatemala.
An Oklahoma state senator is refusing to back down over a misogynistic sexual joke he made about Vice President Kamala Harris that has sparked a bipartisan backlash and some calls for his resignation.
Sen. Nathan Dahm defended himself on Twitter on Friday, writing he had no plans to be politically correct and has been told his jokes are hilarious.
He added that the emotional responses of his critics were irrelevant.
Dahm was speaking to Oklahoma City TV station KTUL-TV about a bill proposing to ban paper straws when he said, You can’t use a paper straw for a milkshake but maybe Kamala Harris could because of her vast experience maybe she would be able to get that accomplished. ....

Leaders of the Oklahoma Legislature are in the midst of a political showdown that has one conservative activist calling for the head of the state Senate to be removed from his leadership position.

Oklahoma lawmakers spar over bill to nullify President Biden's orders

Oklahoman
Republican leaders of the Oklahoma House and Senate are divided on a bill that would allow a majority of state lawmakers to nullify President Joe Biden s executive orders.
Saying the original bill language was unconstitutional, Senate Pro Tem Greg Treat, R-Oklahoma City, introduced a floor substitute to the legislation from House Speaker Charles McCall, R-Atoka, that enjoyed widespread support among House Republicans.
Over the weekend, Treat came under fire from Republican activists for not supporting House Bill 1236. It s unclear if the Senate leader s proposed substitute will placate his critics who plan to rally at the state Capitol on Tuesday.  ....
