Anitta First Stream Latin is a compilation of the best new Latin songs, albums and videos recommended by the Billboard Latin editors. Anitta, “Girl From Rio" (Warner Records) Anitta’s highly awaited “Girl From Rio” is finally out and it did not disappoint. Fusing traditional bossa nova with trap melodies, the English-language track samples the timeless 1962 hit "Garota de Ipanema" ("The Girl From Ipanema") and pays tribute to Brazilian women. “Hot girls, where I'm from, we don't look like models/ Tan lines, big curves and the energy glows/ You'll be falling in love with the girl from Rio,” Anitta kicks off the track. In the music video, directed by Giovanni Bianco, we see two sides of Anitta: the pinup girl and the beach bum. At the beach, she’s joined by a diverse group of people, further proving that the “girls from Rio” are beautiful and authentic. “I’m so happy,” she previously told

Guaynaa & Los Angeles Azules First Stream Latin is a compilation of the best new Latin songs, albums and videos recommended by the Billboard Latin editors. Check out this week's picks below. Guaynaa, Los Angeles Azules, “Cumbia A La Gente” (Universal Music Latino) When old-school artists team up with the newer generation, great things are bound to happen as heard in Guaynaa and Los Angeles Azules’ “Cumbia a la Gente.” As cliché as it may sound, the song fuses the best of both worlds: Guaynaa’s modern perreo and Los Angeles signature cumbia sonidera. Clarinets, trumpets, güiras, and other instruments shine in the hip-shaking bop. As ever, the Puerto Rican artist is witty and charming with his lyrics, even giving off Calle 13 “Atrevete” vibes at one point. The music video is just as playful, featuring both artists crashing a supermarket.

Elsewhere, “100 Años” -- which is in its ninth week on the 25-position Latin Pop Airplay chart -- nets the highest debut of the week on the 50-position all-genre Latin Airplay chart. With a No. 39 start, it's Rivera's third entry and highest-charting song yet. “100 Años” was written by Carlos Rivera, Maluma, Edgar Barrera and Vicente Barco. Juhn’s First: Elsewhere on the Latin charts, Myke Towers and Juhn’s “Bandido” rises 14-10 on Latin Rhythm Airplay and earns Juhn his first top 10 on any Latin airplay chart. “Bandido” rises with 6 million in audience impressions, up 10%, earned in the week ending April 11 and vaults 21-17 on Latin Airplay. Towers secures his 10th top 10, a career count that just began less than a year ago when “Despacio,” with Natti Natasha, Nicky Jam, Manuel Turizo, DJ Luian and Mambo Kingz, peaked at No. 8 in June 2020.
2 of 5 — James Brandon Lewis 3 of 5 — Damon Locks 4 of 5 — Alexa Tarantino 5 of 5 — Roxana Amed Jen Shyu, "Living's a Gift | Part 3: My Unsolved Regrets" Zero Grasses: Ritual For the Losses is the latest artistic statement from Jen Shyu, a vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and composer with the blazing heart of an artist and the curious mind of an ethnographer. It seems unlikely that we'll encounter another album this year with a more striking balance of formal invention and personal revelation. One of the losses ritualized in Shyu's album title refers to her father, who died in 2019. Another is poignantly realized on "Lament for Breonna Taylor." And on a suite in four parts titled "Living's a Gift," Shyu incorporates lyrics composed by middle school students, describing the surreal privations of their pandemic experience.
