Jefferson Performing Arts Society will open its first full season since 2019 with Yasmina Reza s The God of Carnage at Westwego Performing Arts Theatre on September 17, 2021.
Reza s dark comedy about parents turning their children s playground battles into a grown-up sandbox fight kicks off a dynamic lineup filled with a variety of dramatic plays and colorful musicals for all ages.
The Addams Family-A New Musical Comedy celebrates the ghoulish with plenty of giggles and gags as Halloween season begins. The show runs from October 8-17, 2021, and promises to be anything but One Normal Night! ....

METAIRIE, La (press release) – Jefferson Performing Arts Society will stage the New Orleans area debut of Ken Ludwig’s hit A Comedy of Tenors from April 9-18, 2021, at Jefferson Performing Arts Center in Metairie. A total of six performances will be offered at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays and 2:00 p.m. on Sundays. The 2015 play is a lively fast-paced farce that features local opera singers with hilarious opera references that, according to director Anthony Laciura, “…has nothing to do with opera and everything to do with opera TENORS!”
One hotel suite, two wives, three girlfriends, four tenors, and a soccer stadium filled with screaming fans…It’s 1930s Paris and the stage is set for the concert of the century – as long as producer Henry Saunders can keep Italian superstar Tito Merelli and his hot-blooded wife, Maria, from causing complete chaos! ....

METAIRIE, La (press release) – Jefferson Performing Arts Society brings its third production of the new year to the Jefferson Performing Arts Center with the timeless 1940s dark comedy Arsenic and Old Lace from Feb. 26-March 7, 2021.
The popular play by Joseph Kesselring was originally staged on Broadway before becoming the classic film directed by Frank Capra, starring Cary Grant as drama critic Mortimer Brewster. This fast-paced farce features homicidal maniacs that all hail from the same family, including a serial killer brother on the lam and two sweet aunts who have been poisoning their boardinghouse residents for years. Then there’s the uncle who thinks he’s Teddy Roosevelt! ....
