Four people are dead and one person was injured following a Sunday evening head-on collision on Highway 31 East in Smith County. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the crash occurred around 4:45 p.m. on Highway 31 E. between County Road 245 and County Road 246, just west of Country Tavern. The preliminary crash report indicates the driver of a Nissan, identified as Marcellia Jones, 36, of Henderson, was traveling east on Highway 31, when for an unknown reason, the vehicle traveled into the westbound lane and struck a Cadillac, driven by Genous Lee Jackson, 44, of Longview, head-on.

I mean, I hate to use the word “crunk,” but she was just crunk all the time.” She was supposed to be staying with her grandmom and aunt on Saturday night, but she never showed up. “When they called, all I could say was ‘no’ or ‘was he sure? According to a press release, Texas Department of Public Safety troopers responded to and investigated the crash at about 10:42 p.m. Saturday. The wreck occurred 0n SH 31 about eight miles east of Tyler. The preliminary crash report shows that Patrianna Damrye Pettigrew, of Tyler, was driving a 2019 Toyota Camry west on SH 31.

Talia Smith was actually driving and Patrianna was the passenger. A Tyler High School student died in a Saturday night crash in Smith County. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, around 10:45 p.m., troopers responded to a two-vehicle fatal crash on State Highway 31 E., approximately eight miles east of Tyler. The driver of the Toyota was Talia Janae Smith, 20, of Tyler was transported to UT-Health East Texas – Tyler in critical condition. Her passenger, was identified as Patrianna Damrye Pettigrew, 18, of Tyler.
