Trueshan powers to Goodwood Cup glory under hat-trick hero Doyle

Hollie Doyle was the queen of Goodwood as she followed up her Group One triumph by completing a fine hat-trick with additional successes aboard
Lord Riddiford and
Sisters In The Sky.
It was on the last-named colt that she cemented the feat, producing the 13-2 chance to lead approaching the distance in the British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes and preserve a healthy lead to the line, scoring by a cosy but reduced length for trainer Roger Teal.
A jubilant Doyle said: “It’s been an amazing day and brilliant to win on this colt for Roger. He settled a lot better today, and after hitting a flat spot saw it out well. I just needed to give him one behind the saddle and he was away.”

Elliott ban from Cheltenham Festival - The Leader Newspaper

The Leader Newspaper
The British Horseracing Authority used its powers under its own rules to refuse to allow horses trained by Gordon Elliott to race in Britain, placing a year ban, of which six months suspended, following a photo of him sat on a dead horse.
Irish trainer Elliott admitted the photo of him was genuine and has since apologised.
Chiefs at the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board (IHRB) are investigating the issue.
“The action taken by the BHA recognises that Mr Elliott is licensed in Ireland, whose regulatory body, the IHRB, is carrying out its own investigation.
“However, Mr Elliott has entered horses to race in Britain, from which point the British Rules of Racing apply to him. The decision to refuse to allow horses trained by Mr Elliott to run in Britain is therefore an interim decision which the BHA regards as proportionate in these circumstances.”

Matt Brocklebank and Tony McFadden profile eight of the most significant runners this weekend that are likely to have the Cheltenham Festival on their agenda, including Minella Indo.

Paul Townend on Appreciate It
Appreciate It is already favourite for the Sky Bet Supreme Novices Hurdle at Cheltenham but we could be talking in terms of old-fashioned Irish banker should he come through this weekend s test unscathed.
The son of Jeremy won the Goffs Future Stars Bumper on this card last February, before finding stable companion Ferny Hollow too good in the Weatherbys Champion Bumper the following month.

Patrick Mullins' St Stephen's Day preview and top tips: Cool Jet will fly as the 26th reignites Faugheen memories

At the last, Faugheen jumps it brilliantly, Samcro back in second. The old warrior still has plenty of life left in him yet! Faugheen strides up to the line to win…
The 26th of December 2019 will be forever tattooed into my memory. Riding Faugheen to victory over Samcro and the roaring reception he received from the large Limerick crowd was something very special indeed.
But the future is always more intriguing than the past, and this Christmas is about trying to notch another mark in the post.
Paul Townend has decided to head south to ride Asterion Forlonge in the now named ‘Faugheen Novice Chase’. Our, at times, wayward grey was electric on his fencing debut at Punchestown. He did jump to his right at the last two fences when the accelerator was pressed down so it made sense to come to Limerick’s right-handed track. The heavy ground will pose no problem and the trip should be ideal also.
