Joe Biden’s choice of veteran Washington insider Susan Rice as his top domestic policy adviser was hardly surprising. Mr. Biden, like all presidential administrations before him, has filled his cabinet with Council on Foreign Relations members and other Deep State veterans. Rice served as Barack Obama’s United Nations ambassador and national security advisor.
Rice is heading the Biden administration’s investigation into the “origins and roots” of alleged violent white nationalism within the United States. Pushing the “woke” theme of labeling Trump supporters as “domestic terrorists,” Rice declared, “We have seen, and it’s been plain for all Americans on their television sets, just how serious a problem we face from nationalists and white supremacists who have demonstrated a willingness to resort to violence in some instances.” Rice vowed to launch a “comprehensive assessment of the nature of this threat and challenge.” ....

Forecasting the enforcement priorities of the Department of Justice (DOJ) under a new administration is difficult at best. However, the Biden administration is widely expected to be tougher on corporate crime than its predecessor, consistent with the approach of prior Democratic administrations.
