DAVAO CITY – Secretary of National Defense Delfin N. Lorenzana reiterated his support to extend the term of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority for another three years during the 10th leg of the Kasama sa Pamana: Regional Pre-SONA Series held in Cotabato City on Tuesday, June 29.
“I support it. Sabi ko nga kay President, under normal circumstances hindi kaya ng tatlong taon lang, Kasi magstart sa zero eh, they started sa zero. Wala silang experience sa governance, everything, wala eh, they were revolutionaries (I even told President Rodrigo Duterte that under normal circumstances, three years is not enough. Because they will start at zero. They started at zero. They have no experience in governance, they were revolutionaries),” Lorenzana said. ....

Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III is traveling to the Middle East and Europe to consult with some of America s closest allies, with an eye toward revitalizing America s relationships.
The secretary begins his trip in Israel, moves on to Germany, and then goes to Brussels for meetings with
NATOSecretary General Jens Stoltenberg. He ll wrap up his travels in the United Kingdom.
In Israel, Austin will meet with Defense Minister Benny Gantz and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The secretary is the most senior Biden administration official to visit the country. He is visiting the week Israel marks Holocaust Remembrance Day, followed by Israeli Independence Day. ....

Philippine Air Force inducts first six S-70i Black Hawk helicopters

The Philippine Air Force (PAF) has officially inducted into service the first six of 16 Polish-made Sikorsky S-70i Black Hawk helicopters ordered in 2019, the Department of National Defense (DND) in Manila announced on 10 December.
The six rotorcraft, all of which were delivered in November, entered service in an “acceptance, turnover, and blessing” ceremony held that same day at Clark Air Base in Angeles City, Pampanga Province, that was presided over by Secretary of National Defense Delfin Lorenzana.
Delivery of the remaining 10 platforms is expected to be completed within the first quarter of 2021. ....
