Musk's SpaceX faces obstacles in India

Elon Musk s SpaceX is struggling with lift-off in India after the Broadband India Forum (BIF) asked regulators to block its launch of Starlink services, claiming SpaceX has neither the license nor the authorization to provide such a service.
SpaceX started the pre-registration process for its satellite-based Starlink service earlier this year. It is already offering Starlink in Canada and the UK and had hoped to launch an Indian service by 2022.
The BIF says SpaceX is not authorized to provide any commercial services during the testing phase.
Its complaint follows one by the Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI), which has urged the Department of Space to prevent satellite operators from gaining backdoor entry into the communications market. ....

FiberCop is go after KKR and Fastweb firm up stakes

It s been several months in the making, but FiberCop, Italy s last-mile network grid, has finally moved into the operational stage with an enterprise value of 7.7 billion (US$9 billion).
Telecom Italia (TIM) announced the completion of shareholder agreements with KKR Infrastructure and Swisscom-owned Fastweb, meaning that KKR has acquired a 37.5% stake at a value of around 1.8 billion ($2.1 billion). Fastweb has also transferred its 20% stake in FlashFiber, its joint venture with TIM (which holds an 80% stake), into FiberCop and taken a 4.5% stake.
FiberCop now combines TIM s secondary network (from the street cabinet to customers homes) and the fiber network developed by FlashFiber. ....

Utah’s more than 40 state parks, from Antelope Island to Goblin Valley, are a testament to the region’s fascinating and diverse landscapes. Now, as
Travel + Leisurereports, the state is adding two more to the mix: Utahraptor State Park and Lost Creek State Park.
The bill, signed into law by Utah governor Spencer Cox in mid-March, didn’t only make the designation official it also allotted $36.5 million for the parks’ renovation and development. Both places are already pretty popular spots. Lost Creek State Park will be located around Lost Creek Reservoir, where people like to fish for rainbow and cutthroat trout. And Utahraptor State Park, near Moab in eastern Utah, is frequented by hikers and campers. ....

Why Deliveroo's flopped IPO didn't deliver

It s being called the worst IPO in London s history.
Shares in the food delivery app Deliveroo closed 26% down on the day of its public listings debut, wiping £2 billion (US$2.75 billion) from its £7.6 billion ($10.5 billion) opening market capitalization.
Much of the blame was being laid at the feet of a disastrous roadshow, where its Goldman Sachs and JP Morgan advisors refused to name the three anchor investors who were based outside the UK.
British fund managers also were spooked by a dual-class share structure which gave its CEO Will Shu outsized voting rights 20 times those of other investors.
But the structure also meant Deliveroo didn t debut into the FTSE 100 index, meaning passive tracker funds buying shares in the index would pass over Deliveroo. ....

The kangaskhan, Australia s only species of endemic Pokemon in Pokemon Go, is commonly poached within its natural habitat by Pokemon trainers for use in fighting contests
Researchers used several species distribution modeling algorithms to predict how climate change, on top of the already existing human-induced pressures, would impact the distribution of the kangaskhan in the future
In addition to this, they found a way to measure how biased commonly used species distribution models are, and found that some models are so biased that their results weren t influenced by the data at all
The researchers compared these results to previously published models for hundreds of species of Australian mammals and found similar biases ....
