https://www.afinalwarning.com/522895.html (Natural News) Many cities in America are now restoring funding to their police departments – if not proposing bigger budgets for them. The sudden rise in crime has called for cities to inject much-needed funding for law enforcements. This new trend is a complete 180-degree turn from last year’s calls to “defund” police departments during Black Lives Matter (BLM) protests across the country. Most of these Democrat-led cities gave in to BLM protesters’ demands to “defund” law enforcement. The call came after George Floyd died at the hands of law enforcement in Minneapolis in May last year. Anti-police activists have used the term “defund” in a number of ways – such as shrinking the size of current police forces and shifting money allocated for law enforcement to social services.

Prime minister Kaja Kallas (Reform) has warned that if the public sector cannot make savings cuts, the burden will be placed on the private sector, via higher taxation. These cuts need to be in serious areas, instead of the frivolous suggestions she said had so far been made. Kallas, who had just returned from a three-day trip to Ukraine, said Thursday that: "If the public sector does not agree to find any savings, to pull somewhere, the private sector will suffer. And the private sector has already suffered a lot from this crisis." Other European countries have taken a similar approach, she added, saying that savings must be made across all ministries and the agencies under their purview.

Sine Die: Overview of Georgia’s 2022 Fiscal Year Budget
Bolstered by billions of dollars in unprecedented support from the federal government, Georgia lawmakers enacted a state budget for Fiscal Year (FY) 2022 (HB 81) that maintains nearly $850 million in cuts from FY 2020 levels (HB 31), a reduction equivalent to cutting approximately 4 percent of General Funds from the budget. [1] Due in large part to $90 million in savings from the federal government’s decision to pay a higher-than-usual share of the cost of Georgia’s Medicaid program due to the COVID-19 pandemic, lawmakers were able to restore about half of the cuts made to public education since the pandemic began, with approximately $561 million in cuts from FY 2020 funding levels remaining. Members of the General Assembly also moved $22 million in funding from other state agencies and $15 million from capital projects to restore a total of about $127 million in cuts initially proposed in Gov. Kemp’s executive budget.
Health sector budget cuts affect women most Wednesday April 28 2021 Summary Ms Hope Twine says: Most maternal and neo-natal deaths could be averted with timely management. There is a notable reduction of 9.3 per cent in the health budget from Shs2.781 trillion in Financial Year 2020/2021 to Shs2.523 trillion. Advertisement While women comprise 52 per cent of Uganda’s population, a typical woman continues to grapple with critical health issues that are only slightly addressed by the current budget support to the health sector. A glance at the national budget for financial year 2021/2022 doesn’t emphasize the health rights and wellbeing of women enough.
