LOS ANGELES, March 9, 2021 /PRNewswire/ 4S Bay Partners LLC, a Chicago area based family office, announces the acquisition of a 1.85- acre property along 3701 W. Stocker Street. The purchase is part of a redevelopment project in the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Corridor. James Daughrity of Daughrity Real Estate represented the buyer and the seller, 4S Bay Partners LLC, and Sticks Holdings, LLC & Optimus Properties, LLC. The law firm of Russ, August & Kabat represented the buyer in the acquisition, and will continue to support the project as it moves forward. ....

If you try to visit the Los Angeles County Museum of Art this week, you can enter the Resnick Pavilion and browse its gift shop, where you might peruse one of several catalogs featuring the work of Japanese artist Yoshitomo Nara, who is currently the subject of a major retrospective at the museum. You can also pick up one of several Nara-designed skateboard decks, Nara T-shirts and Nara colored pencil sets. While you’re at it, don’t forget the Nara disposable bandages. (Only $12!)
What you cannot do is see the Nara exhibition in the BCAM building across the way. Nor can you view any of the exhibitions currently installed inside the Resnick Pavilion, which include a show of photography by Vera Lutter, which chronicles LACMA’s now-demolished east campus, and an architectonic installation by Korean artist Do Ho Suh. ....

n 1992, Kim Prince and her twin, Kelly, rode with their mother, Louise Prince, to Lancaster’s second-ever California Poppy Festival. The springtime event usually coincides with the flower’s annual bloom and draws visitors from around the world just to catch a glimpse of hills covered in a sea of orange and yellow flowers. California’s magnificent state flower is always a draw, but the Prince sisters who were home from college on a visit came to see what their father, Martin, was up to.
As the family parked the car and wandered through rows of food and retailers, they caught the scent of something familiar. Right there in the middle of the festival was Kim’s father hovering over a fryer in a small easy-up tent, knee-deep in a familiar process. Martin was busy deep-frying batch after batch of the Prince family’s signature dish, Nashville hot chicken. ....
