Leaders of four Indo-Pacific nations – the US, India, Japan and Australia - have called for a free, open Indo-Pacific, whch they said, would be an enabler of peace, stability and prosperity for all nations of the region and the world.
Leaders of the ‘Indo-Pacific Quad’ grouping, at their first virtual meeting that lasted twenty minutes, discussed issues like distribution of corona vaccines, climate change and emerging technologies.

ICICI Bank, SBI, Kotak Mahindra and HDFC slash home loan rates

Home loan rates in India have fallen to levels below 6.75 per cent with banks, flush with funds, reduced lending rates to lowest levels in nearly 15 years to beat the slump.
Private lender ICICI Bank is the latest to cut rates, after Kotak Mahindra Bank, State Bank of India, HDFC Bank and ICICI Bank reduced lending rates for home buyers.
ICICI Bank said the new rate of 6.70 per cent will be applicable to loans up to Rs75 lakh and will be open to all - new and existing customers. It also extended the facility of digital submission of loan applications. ....

Bar to Student Workers Unionizing at Universities Withdrawn

The National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) has withdrawn the
rule it proposed in September 2019 to exclude student workers at private colleges and universities from coverage under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA).

SC asks govt to bring law to regulate content on OTT platforms

The Supreme Court has asked the central government to come up with a legislation to regulate content on social media and OTT (Over-The-Top) platforms instead of issuing guidelines that cannot be enforced.
The court held that the so-called regulations framed by the government last month are only guidelines and are not enough to make social media and OTT platforms accountable for the content they carried.
The SC had asked the centre to submit regulations governing content on OTT platforms like Netflix, Amazon etc that operate from outside the country. The SC direction followed petitions filed against Amazon for vulgar display of Hindu religion and its icons in its serial. ....

Nick's gets into sweets with new keto-friendly bars

Nick s, the Swedish brand known in the U.S. for its better-for-you ice cream, is launching into a new sector with its line of Swedish-Style Keto Snack Bars, which are now for sale on the company s U.S. website.
The snack bars, which have 180 calories, no added sugar, 3 grams of net carbs and 15 grams of protein, are first available in Choklad Peanot flavor. The company will release two other flavors of the bars Karamell Choklad and Krispi Nougat this summer.
Nick s first appeared in the United States in 2019 and has spent the last year on the ramp to rapid expansion. At the close of 2020, Nick s Ice Cream was available in nearly 4,000 stores in the U.S., as well as direct-to-consumer on its website. Its Swedish parent company, LUB Foods, closed a $30 million funding round in January. Company leaders said Nick s had about $10 million in sales in 2020 and hopes to triple or quadruple sales this year. ....
