Here’s What The Dyngus Day Parade In Buffalo Will Look Like This Year
While seemingly everything has been canceled or done virtually over the last 12 months in Western New York, there are signs that things will be normal in the coming weeks and months with restrictions loosening and more and more people getting the COVID-19 vaccine.
One of the major events in Buffalo every spring and summer is the annual Dyngus Day Parade in Buffalo.
Last year s parade festivities were canceled, but the parade is being planned on for 2021, which will take place at 5 p.m. on April 5th on Buffalo s east side.

In 1989, Poland, thanks primarily to the efforts of the Solidarity movement, emerged from 44 years of Soviet domination to establish a new system of representative democratic government. Given its peopleâs extremely difficult situation at that time, coupled with Polandâs failed experience with democratic governance in the years after its national rebirth in 1918, few observers were hopeful about the chances for democratic governance after 1989.

Loretta Brennan Glucksman’s great-grandparents all emigrated from Ireland. They were coal miners, brewers and bakers and all four ended up in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Anthony Tamburri, meanwhile, grew up in a very Italian neighborhood of Stamford, Connecticut. And Eleni Kounalakis is the daughter of a Greek real-estate developer from the village of Rizes.
Today, Glucksman heads the American Ireland Fund and co-chairs the Glucksman Ireland House at New York University. Tamburri is the dean of Calandra Italian American Institute at New York’s Queens College. And Kounalakis is the lieutenant-governor of California.
