Fee falling: FirstEnergy announced Tuesday it had axed a fee it had collected since 2011 as the company continues to try to restore its reputation in the aftermath of the House Bill 6 scandal. As Jeremy Pelzer and Andrew Tobias report, the company is eliminating the “lost distribution revenue” charge, similar to the decoupling fee the company previously agreed to forego. In a Tuesday regulatory filing, the company also used slightly more pointed terms to describe a previously disclosed $4 million payment it made to an unnamed person, believed to be former Public Utilities Commission of Ohio Chai ....

WASHINGTON — Nearly four hours after pro-Trump supporters stormed their way into the U.S. Capitol, officials declared the scene secure, but not before one person was killed inside of the Capitol.

Supporters of President Donald Trump attempted to steal a gun from a D.C. police officer and use it against him during last week’s storming of the U.S. Capitol, according to the police chief. The officer was said to be “very shaken, very appalled, very angry” after being released from the hospital, the chief said.
D.C. Metropolitan Police Department Chief Robert Contee said the Trump supporters attacked his officer and tried to steal his gun, MSN News reported. He said the officer managed to retain his firearm but did lose some of his other department-issued equipment. ....
