Greg Eiland - Right Tackle Mississippi State Bulldogs Scouting Report

Greg Eiland - Right Tackle Mississippi State Bulldogs Scouting Report
Scouting report for NFL Draft prospect Greg Eiland
Author:
Overview:
Having played right tackle, left tackle and left guard for the Bulldogs, Eiland was invited to the College Gridiron Showcase and put up freaky measurements including 37-inch arms. His tape shows a very limited player who is unable to put that frame to effective use. He struggles to gain depth in his frequent vertical sets, suffering from slow feet and getting frequent help from chipping running backs. Eiland’s punch is predictable and his blocks get deconstructed in all kinds of ways. He is especially susceptible to getting beat laterally as he shows little recovery ability. While he has some bend in his knees, Eiland often lunges at opponents as he ducks his head. He is not comfortable on the move and fails to make blocks stick, not continuing to move his feet. His hands show occasional violence when he finishes off-balance defenders. Nothing on his tape shows that Eiland is an NFL-caliber offensive lineman. He could be invited to a camp thanks to his size.

Tarik Black - Wide Receiver Texas Longhorns Scouting Report

Tarik Black - Wide Receiver Texas Longhorns Scouting Report
Scouting report for NFL Draft prospect Tarik Black
Author:
Overview:
The former four-star recruit started his career at Michigan before transferring to Texas for his senior season. Black possesses exciting size and athleticism, as his acceleration is sudden and gets him up to speed quickly. He runs with intent after the catch, running physically and using his off-hand to break tackles. On a vertical route tree, he can be successful with his athleticism threatening defensive backs. His underneath and intermediate routes lack decisiveness. Black uses his physicality to release off of press and stack cornerbacks once he gets on top of them vertically. He has to use his hands to protect his chest better at the line as he allows press coverage defenders to land their hands. Black catches the ball reliably with his strong hands and occasional body catches when passes are low. Losing his footing is an issue as he does not always keep his feet underneath him. Black projects as a depth wide receiver on the outside if he can stay healthy. His size and athleticism should allow him to win vertically occasionally. He has to translate his physicality to special teams to stick on a roster.

Bryce Hargrove - Offensive Guard Pittsburgh Panthers Scouting Report

Bryce Hargrove - Offensive Guard Pittsburgh Panthers Scouting Report
Scouting report for NFL Draft prospect Bryce Hargrove
Author:
Overview:
Part of a sporadic Pitt offense, Hargrove was arguably its most consistent piece on the line over the last two seasons at left guard. Hargrove has an adequate frame with a powerful lower half that can create a lot of pop in very tight confines. He routinely moves defenders off their spot in the run game, re-establishing the line of scrimmage to the offense’s advantage. In pass protection, Hargrove shows good spatial awareness to handle various movements and blitzes up front. Technique, however, is not Hargrove’s friend. His pad level is about as hit or miss as can be. He is an extremely stiff athlete who has bad hips when he attempts to establish leverage. He won’t be asked to do much out of a phone booth. His inability to counteract twitchy interior players could be debilitating at the next level. While his power profile might buy him some time, his limited athletic profile and poor pad level could limit his ability to stick.

Wyatt Davis - Offensive Guard Ohio State Buckeyes Scouting Report

Wyatt Davis - Offensive Guard Ohio State Buckeyes Scouting Report
Scouting report for NFL Draft prospect Wyatt Davis
Author:
Overview:
After serving in a reserve role his first two seasons with the team, Davis quickly asserted himself as the top offensive lineman on the team and arguably the top interior offensive lineman in the entire country in 2020. Davis is an incredibly physical interior player who plays with a nasty streak in the run game. He asserts his will on opposing defenders. Davis is rocked out in his lower body, easily creating power in some very tight spaces. With plus athleticism for the position, he is able to potentially translate to either a gap power or zone scheme. He demonstrates nice hip positioning, getting aligned well in accordance with the hole. With a nasty demeanor, Davis routinely finishes opposing defenders on the ground with high effort. In pass protection, Davis showcases solid feet to work while maintaining a square base. When posed with powerful defensive linemen, he is able to sit down and shut down power effectively. His feet can get a little lazy at times, which can cause him to have to kick into recovery mode. Davis plays with outstanding physicality, but can get a little overanxious at times. That can cause some problems with lunging in the run game, affecting his balance. If Davis can clean up some small details, there is no reason to believe that he will have to wait until after the second day to hear his name called in April. His combination of power, physicality and athleticism could actually be coveted somewhere on Day 1 of the 2021 draft.

Tommy Kraemer - Offensive Guard Notre Dame Fighting Irish Scouting Report

Tommy Kraemer - Offensive Guard Notre Dame Fighting Irish Scouting Report
Scouting report for NFL Draft prospect Tommy Kraemer
Author:
Overview:
A part of one of the most talented offensive lines in all of college football, Kraemer possessed the most fanfare coming out of Elder High School in Cincinnati, Ohio, as a five-star recruit. Transitioned to guard after spending his redshirt freshman season at right tackle. That move unlocked the best of Kraemer, highlighting his big-time power in the run game. Boasting a powerfully built frame, Kraemer is able to establish inside position and drive defenders effectively out of gaps. In pass protection, his background at tackle shows up big time in Kraemer’s ability to mirror and match with quicker interior rushers. On the next level, Kraemer’s experience playing multiple positions will dramatically increase his value as a potential swing piece on the offensive front. His lack of flexibility hurts his overall ability to last on the edge at tackle for the long haul, as he struggles to consistently match up against more athletic pass rushers. Despite his flashes of dominance in the run game, Kraemer can be overaggressive at times, getting overextended and losing balance to stay on his blocks. There is a level of frustration that ensues when watching Kraemer. He is clearly an NFL-caliber player with starter-level traits, but his film is littered with inconsistencies. With his combination of size, versatility and physical profile, an offensive line coach is going to take every opportunity to work with Kraemer ... perhaps even earlier than some may expect.
