In the framework of the British presidency in partnership with Italy of the United Nations Conference on Climate Change COP26, the Embassies of the United Kingdom and Italy to the Holy See, together with the Holy See, will convene a meeting of religious leaders and scientists in Rome in autumn 2021 to build momentum for COP26, which is scheduled to take place from 1 to 12 November 2021 in Glasgow. The meeting will take place after the preparatory COP26 events in Milan: the world Conference dedicated to young people “Youth4Climate: Driving Ambition” and the Pre-COP26 (28 September to 2 October 2021).  ....

The first Employment Working Group meeting under the Italian G20 Presidency was hosted virtually at Palazzo Chigi in Rome, on February 15th – 17th. The meeting was attended by delegates from all G20 partners, as well as representatives from regional organizations.
The session was chaired by Mr. Carmelo Barbarello, Diplomatic Advisor of Italy’s Labour and Employment Minister. The three-day meeting gave G20 members the chance to exchange views on two of the priority areas identified by the Italian Presidency of the Working Group: gender equality in the world of work, with the commitment of the G20 to encourage broader participation of women in the workforce and their effective inclusion in the economy; and the issue of social protection, paying particular attention to the need to ada ....

Nevada: Will they Have the First 2024 Primary?

Every four years there are complaints about which states vote first in the primaries.
The Democratic-controlled Nevada Legislature introduced legislation last week that would alter the presidential primary calendar and bump Nevada to be first in line for the nation’s nominating contest in 2024.
The bill also moves to eradicate the state’s caucus process and change its vote to a primary that would be held on the second-to-last Tuesday in January of presidential election years, putting direct threats on Iowa and New Hampshire’s generational roles of being the first states to vote in the presidential nomination process. The Democratic effort will likely see approval and be signed off by Gov. Steve Sisolak (D), but the Democratic National Committee will ultimately decide which state goes first in the nomination process a verdict that will probably not be fully decided for another year. ....

G20 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) will meet on Friday 26 February 2021, for the first G20 Finance Track ministerial meeting under the Italian G20 Presidency. The event will be held in virtual mode.
The Italian G20 Presidency officially started on December 1st 2020. Since then, officials from member and host countries, together with representatives from international organisations, have been meeting regularly to set the agenda and address the most pressing issues of the global economy.
Under the Finance Track, the G20 addresses global economic, fiscal and monetary issues. Since the Covid-19 outbreak, the Finance Track has been engaged in coping with the economic impact of the pandemic and fostering a strong, sustainable and inclusive economic recovery. ....

Bhaca chief Thandisizwe Diko died last night after a short illness.

Thandisizwe Diko, the chief of the Bhaca nation and husband of presidency spokesperson Khusela Diko, has died.
Family member Zolile Makaula confirmed to TimesLIVE that he passed away in a hospital in East London after a short illness.
“I can confirm he passed away last night in hospital,” he said, adding he could not provide further details.
Diko was 43 years old.
“His death took us by surprise,
usizimele usibali. This has left us devastated,” his brother-in-law, Prince Vuluthuba Sangoni, told DispatchLIVE. ....
