A leaked letter is the cause of internal wrangles pitting media chiefs against one another, roping in ICT CS Joe Mucheru and Attorney General Kariuki Kihara. 
Media Council of Kenya (MCK) CEO David Omwoyo dismissed Tabitha Mutemi as a member of the board which regulates the media industry in a leaked letter dated January 11. 
Omwoyo argued that Mutemi, who was appointed to the board by CS Joe Mucheru, could not serve since she was an employee of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission. ....

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh famously pledged to live on “zeit wa zaatar” olive oil and dried herbs after he led the Islamic militant group to victory on a message of armed struggle and austerity during the 2006 Palestinian elections.
But he has since left the impoverished Gaza Strip and, along with some other Hamas leaders, is living in luxury as he splits his time between Turkey and Qatar. With new elections planned this spring, Hamas will struggle to campaign as a scrappy underdog that is above trading its principles for material comforts.

For over a decade, Turkey has been one of Israel’s most bitter critics on the international stage. Anti-Israel rhetoric from top officials, led by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, verged on the apoplectic, and Ankara also took actions that angered officials in Jerusalem, most notably providing support for the Hamas terror group.
