ITV Unveils The Masked Dancer After Hit Show The Masked Singer

ITV is donning the mask again. Following the success of “The Masked Singer,” the U.K. broadcaster has commissioned “The Masked Dancer.”
Produced by the Argonon Group’s Bandicoot Scotland, the seven-part show will see 12 celebrity contestants perform unique dances, clad in extravagant costumes and masks, leaving the viewers and star panel to guess their identities.

The final of “The Masked Singer” attracted a consolidated audience of 10 million viewers for ITV.
“The Masked Dancer” was commissioned by Katie Rawcliffe, ITV’s head of entertainment commissioning and Joe Mace, commissioning editor. Executive producers are Derek McLean, Daniel Nettleton and Claire Horton.

In honor of Women’s History Month, Fox is teaming up with WriteGirl, a creative mentorship organization, as part of its ongoing “TV For All” initiative.
Fox’s “TV For All” campaign launched at the beginning of 2020 in an effort to champion diverse voices in entertainment. In March, Fox is recognizing the contributions that women have made to American history and the network’s historic moments.

Fox Entertainment has launched the digital docuseries “Making History in Hollywood,” featuring some of the network’s top Black stars as they discuss who and what inspires them in entertainment, and their experiences.
The first episode, which launches on Friday, Feb. 26, features Malcolm-Jamal Warner from Fox’s “The Resident.” First known for his role as Theo on “The Cosby Show,” and later for his UPN sitcom “Malcolm & Eddie,” Warner discusses the positive impact of watching Black representation on television during his childhood.

Olympic gold medalist gymnast Gabby Douglas is the first-ever winner of “The Masked Dancer,” having scored the show’s diamond mask trophy after being revealed as Cotton Candy.
Douglas was victorious despite facing off with two trained dancers in the finale. Runner-up Sloth turned out to be “Dancing with the Stars’” Maksim Chmerkovskiy. And in third place was Tulip, who was revealed to be Mackenzie Ziegler (“Dance Moms”).

Douglas was unmasked after dancing to “This Is Me,” by Kesha. The panelists were torn between whether the Cotton Candy was a gymnast or an ice skater.
