Virginia to start Phase 1b vaccinations Monday

The department said all areas in Virginia are expected to begin Phase 1b vaccinations by the end of January, and each district will announce when it moves to the next phase.
How to get a vaccine in your area
For those living in facilities that qualify them to receive the COVID-19 vaccine under Phase 1b, the facility will be in contact with residents directly about vaccination. For essential workers, one point of contact from the employing organization will be responsible for coordinating vaccination of its employees.
Those 75 and older, who are made eligible for vaccination under Phase 1b, can sign up to get vaccinated a number of ways, depending on where they live: ....

Health districts and school systems in northern Virginia are preparing to start vaccinating group 1b Monday after the state authorized the move last week.
The Virginia Health Department (VDH) announced Friday that 11 health districts in the state can move into this next vaccination phase starting January 11, many of which are in northern Virginia:

Roanoke City/Alleghany
According to the VDH, group 1b includes frontline essential workers, people aged 75 and older, and people living in correctional facilities, homeless shelters, and migrant labor camps.

FRANKFORT, Ky. (FOX19) - Kentucky officials announced the next groups to receive doses of COVID-19 vaccines will be those aged 70 years and older, first responders and K-12 school personnel.
Gov. Andy Beshear and Department of Public Health Commissioner Steven Stack, MD, revealed the so-called Phase 1b groups in Kentucky’s Monday COVID-19 briefing.
Phase 1a is underway with long-term care facility staff and residents and healthcare personnel in clinical settings. Also included are Kentuckians who work in environmental services, front-line operations, interpretation services, dental care and home-based health care staff. Stack estimated at least 200,000 Kentuckians ....

Joe Biden Receives COVID-19 Vaccine, Praises Trump for Successful Vaccine Development


President-elect Joe Biden received his first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on Monday and offered praise for the Trump administration.
Biden and his wife Jill received their shots at ChristianaCare Hospital in Newark, Delaware and will be getting the second Pfizer dose in roughly 21 days, USA Today reported.
Biden also offered praise for the Trump administration s Operation Warp Speed in its successful effort, said an article by New York Post.
I think that the administration deserves some credit getting this off the ground with Operation Warp Speed, Biden said, before giving an awkward fist-bump to his vaccine administrator.
