Brigette Peterson, who was sworn in as Gilbert s new mayor on Tuesday, spoke of the need for people to come together.
Coming out of a year of changes and challenges, Peterson said difficulties will continue, but the healing needs to start with each of us as individuals in our homes and in our neighborhoods and in our town.”
Peterson, who spent about five years on the Town Council before running for mayor, said she would draw on the diverse viewpoints as she leads the town of about 260,000 residents. ....
