Texas Longhorns forwards Kai Jones and Greg Brown were included in the first round of the latest ESPN.com 2021 NBA Mock Draft, released after the NBA Lottery Draft field was set.
Neither Jones nor Brown were lottery picks in this mock.
Jones, a sophomore who declared for the draft shortly after the Longhorns lost to Abilene Christian in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, went No. 19 overall to the Memphis Grizzlies. The mock’s author, Jonathan Givony, notes that Jones’ ‘explosiveness and versatility in the front court’ would ‘shore up their (the Grizzlies) depth.’

Former Texas golfer Jordan Spieth found himself paired with a familiar face during the first round of the AT&T Byron Nelson Classic — fellow Dallas native Will Zalatoris.
Zalatoris knew what to expect from Spieth during the first round.
“A couple of ridiculous 30- or 40-footers and maybe a chip-in per round and that’s kind of what you’re going to expect,” Zalatoris said.
He couldn’t have been more right on Thursday. Spieth lit up the TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas, firing a 9-under 63 to end the day in a first-place tie with J.J. Spaun.

The Texas Longhorns’ drought of NFL Drafts without a first-round pick continued on Thursday, as Texas was shut out for the sixth straight year.
The last Longhorns player to be taken in the first round was defensive lineman Malcom Brown in 2015. He was taken No. 32 overall by the New England Patriots. Brown, the former Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, has two Super Bowl rings.
The Longhorns do still have a chance to have a second-round pick for the first time since 2018, when the Dallas Cowboys took tackle Connor Williams at No. 50 overall. The Longhorns also have their eyes on getting at least five players selected in the entire draft for the first time since 2015, when linebacker Jordan Hicks, defensive back Mykkele Thompson, defensive back Quandre Diggs, and tight end Geoff Swaim joined Brown in the pool of players drafted.

Texas Longhorns-ex Jordan Spieth was unable to take advantage of ‘moving day’ at The Masters, shooting an even-par 72 to complete the third round at 5-under par.
But, instead of being two shots back of Justin Rose, as he was at the start of play on Saturday, Spieth found himself in seventh place, six shots back of a new leader, Hideki Matsuyama.
Matsuyama had the round of the day. The former low amateur at The Masters shot a 7-under 65 to move to 11-under for the event and end Rose’s two-day hold on the lead.
