Leftist Dark Money Groups Silent on Donor Disclosure Despite Support for H.R. 1, Election Transparency

Leftist Dark Money Groups Silent on Donor Disclosure Despite Support for H.R. 1, Election Transparency
8 Mar 2021
Leftist dark money groups such as the Sixteen Thirty Fund, New Venture Fund, the League of Conservation Voters (LCV), and others have remained silent on calls to disclose their donors even though they have publicly backed legislation that would provide for the disclosure of dark money groups’ donors and made public statements calling for donor transparency.
Breitbart News reported that Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) has served as one of the most vocal Democrat critics of “dark money’s” influence in politics, but the Rhode Island Democrat appears to be a significant beneficiary of dark money. ....

Jen Psaki Stumbles Upon the Real Issue With the White House Dog-Biting Story (and It Ain't the Dogs)

AP Photo/Patrick Semansky
CNN breathlessly filed a report Monday on how both of President Joe Biden’s dogs – Champ and Major – were removed from the White House last week after an alleged “biting incident” involving Major, the younger of the two dogs, and someone from the White House’s security team.
According to the Biden apologist network, the “exact condition of the victim is unknown.” Major’s aggressiveness was “serious enough”, however, that it prompted the eviction of both dogs. They have been moved to the Biden family home in Delaware, where they are said to sometimes be placed when First Lady Jill Biden is traveling. ....

Lawmakers Raise Study Taking Grim Outlook On Biden Climate Plans - But Who's Behind It?

Bureau of Land Management
Wyoming s US Rep. Liz Cheney envisions a dark future for her home state under President Joe Biden.
If the new administration extends its pause on new oil and gas drilling on public land, it would endanger Wyoming s economy, kill 18,000 jobs and cause the energy state to lose out on critical education, infrastructure, and healthcare funding. Biden would be cutting off a major lifeline that Americans have relied on to survive during this time, she has said.
But there s a problem with Cheney s forecast. The numbers she s relying on came from an analysis that is the brainchild of the oil and gas industry. ....

Records Show President Trump Loved Going After Whistleblowers Even More Than Obama Did

Tue, Mar 9th 2021 9:30am
Tim Cushing
Ah, we were so young then. We excoriated the Obama administration for attacking and prosecuting whistleblowers at a faster clip than
any other administration in history.
This happened despite the fact Obama presided over some of the most historic leaks in history ones that kickstarted changes in surveillance programs and surveillance attitudes. The Obama Administration claimed to be the most transparent ever, but behind the scenes, it worked tirelessly to punish whistleblowers and leakers who were bringing
actual transparency to entities that had long resisted it.
The facts about the late, not-so-great Trump Administration are continuing to leak out. And Obama s enthusiasm for punishing professional and amateur transparency enthusiasts has been outdone by his successor a man who often engaged in leaking himself through his Twitter account. Here s Ken Klippenstein with the details: ....

UW-Madison chancellor apologizes for keeping COVID-19 discussions private

KELLY MEYERHOFER
UW-Madison Chancellor Rebecca Blank apologized on Monday for emails she sent last summer suggesting COVID-19 communications between Big Ten leaders be moved to the network’s private portal, an approach one expert on Wisconsin’s public records law called “clearly illegal.”
Blank
“I regret the language I used in my email exchange with other Big Ten chancellors, which appears as though I intended to use the Big Ten board portal to skirt my public records responsibilities,” Blank said in a statement to the Wisconsin State Journal. “This was surely not my intention and I apologize for that appearance.” ....
