The UK, as host of the next round of UN climate talks, must take the opportunity to show how nuclear energy is essential to decarbonisation, Tim Stone, chairman of the Nuclear Industry Association, said at a Westminster Energy Forum conference last week. Rolls-Royce on track for 2030 delivery of UK SMR : New Nuclear

Rolls-Royce has almost completed the feasibility stage in the development of its UK small modular reactor and in May will focus on securing investment, its chief technology officer, Paul Stein, said yesterday. The technology will undergo the Generic Design Assessment process with UK regulators in 2024 and will be ready for grid use five years later, he said. ....
