KBR Sigma Bravo supports Australian secure deployed networks - Digital Battlespace

Deployed information and communications technology will help the Australian Defence Force ‘exploit new capabilities’, says KBR.
The Mission IT & Security Solutions business unit (Sigma Bravo) in KBR is participating in a three-year, $175 million programme to help sustain secure deployed networks for the Australian Defence Force (ADF).
Key deliverables include providing support for information and communications technology (ICT), engineering, and logistics support for the ADF Chief Information Officer Group in Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane.
KBR is working in partnership with Australian companies specialising in systems integration, information assurance, cloud computing and cyber security.
This team will also work with Fujitsu and Leidos to evolve the deployed ICT capability ‘so that the ADF can exploit new capabilities as an agile, integrated and informed 5th generation force’, KBR noted in a 15 March statement. ....

Germany requests five P-8As - Air Warfare

FMS of five P-8As to Germany has been approved by the US State Department.
The US State Department has approved a potential $1.77 billion FMS of Boeing P-8A Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft (MPA) and related equipment to Germany.
The Defense Security Cooperation Agency (DSCA) on 12 March delivered the required certification notifying Congress of the deal.
‘The proposed sale will improve Germany’s capability to meet current and future threats by providing critical capabilities to coalition maritime operations,’ the DSCA noted.
Germany is requesting five Poseidon aircraft plus nine Multifunctional Distribution System Joint Tactical Radio Systems 5, as well as commercial engines; EO and IR sensors; radar; electronic support measures; missile warning sensors; navigation systems (including GPS and inertial navigation); spare parts; training; software support; and engineering and logistics technical assistance. ....

ALTON Aldermen on Wednesday night took the first steps in possibly adding a new restaurant in Alton.
At Wednesday’s city council meeting, aldermen approved preliminary and final subdivision plats for Alton Circle Subdivision proposed by Sheppard, Morgan & Schwaab, Inc.
The area is the lot adjacent to the AT&T Store on 1725 Homer Adams Parkway in Alton. The plan is to expand the area slightly to make room for a drive-through restaurant. According to Mayor Brant Walker, the restaurant is from a nationally known brand not currently in Alton. Construction is set to begin “very soon,” Walker said. ....

Austria awaits first modified S-70 Black Hawk - Defence Helicopter

The first of three modified S-70 helicopters will be formally handed over to the Austrian Air Force on 15 March.
The Austrian Air Force is about to receive the first of three modified Sikorsky S-70 Black Hawk helicopters.
The helicopters were bought second-hand from Jordan for €60 million in 2020.
Defence Minister Klaudia Tanner will attend a 15 March ceremony at Langenlebarn airbase some 50km northwest of Vienna, the Austrian MoD announced on 12 March.
Procurement of the S-70s began in August 2018, when the Austrian government announced that they would be added to a fleet of nine S-70A42s.
By January 2019, the government had committed funding to buy the three Black Hawks plus 18 light multirole helicopters to replace a fleet of 21 ageing Aerospatiale Alouette IIIs. ....
