Area business professionals featured in new exhibit

Salina professional photographer Shelley Griffith will be displaying unique portraits of local business professionals that include elements of their careers in the portraits.
The exhibit “Eye Do” by Griffith is in the virtual Gallery 708 and on display at Salina Public Library. The exhibit will be on display until May 31.
Griffith wanted to do headshots in a different way and attributes her personality and corky attitude for coming up with the idea.
"Everybody does the same thing, so I wanted to do something different," said Griffith. "I have a friend who is a graphic designer, and he had the idea of putting paint on his face. The whole point is to do something different so that their face and what they do along with what company they represent stays in people's minds."

Brazillian women facing years in jail after admitting to roles in London's moped drug courier gang

An all-female group of Brazillians who oversaw London's first girls-only drugs courier service are facing 'significant' prison time after appearing at court.
Vanessa Ananias, Nayara Robeiro, Andressa Santoas and Nayene Fernandez-Silva all admitted to being part of a moped-riding narcotics operation between April 2020 and February 2021.
The Brazillian women, aged between 24 and 33, are all facing 'significant prison sentences', according to Judge Tony Baumgartner.
A fifth woman, 24-year-old Larissy Nascimento Dos Reis, is due to enter her pleas next week.
