SAN DIEGO (KGTV)-- Scripps Health Systems began administering COVID-19 shots at their clinics to their patients earlier this week. But many people said they are having problems signing up for an appointment.
Thousands of people took advantage of the first week of the 65 and over COVID-19 vaccine availability at Scripps Health Systems.
"The rollout went very well," Dr. Ghazala Sharieff, Chief Medical Officer for Acute Care at Scripps Health, said. "We only had 6,800 doses initially, and we have over 150,000 patients who are over age 65."

Bestselling Author Eric Jerome Dickey Passes Away At 59

One of our culture's best selling authors Eric Jerome Dickey has passed away. The famed author was known for his novels about contemporary black culture.
A graduate of the University of Memphis, Dickey also wrote crime novels, comedy scripts and short stories. Some of his work includes:
"Sleeping With Strangers," "Before We Were Wicked," and
"Sister Sister." He has won several awards for his literary work and was scheduled to release another novel this spring.
According to his publicist Dickey died after a long illness, he was 59. Rest in peace literary genius.
