Call for the EU to build publicly funded cutting-edge artificial intelligence

The EU should assemble its best computer scientists and give them billions of euros to build a European AI system, to avoid becoming dependent on models created by US and Chinese technology giants, one of Europe’s leading AI experts has argued.
