Doomsday & saving Gaza: What if we built a prototype Mars colony there?

The purpose of this article is to explore a thought experiment about the future of Gaza. Yes, the situation looks grim today. Yes, the situation might get worse in the short term. But in 6 months or 12 months, barring some sort of nuclear exchange or a World War 3 situation in the Middle East, things will have calmed down. At that point, we are going to be back where we were in September. So what can be done? Here are some thoughts.
