a passionate car lover from austria recreated so from scratch cars from hollywood movies and they get away to the canary island of gran canaria for an taste of their unique we see. but we start off the show with a little spring in our step irish dancing or irish step dancing has a long history and tradition on the emerald island now you may be familiar with it thanks to shows like river dance the movements are similar to fast tap dancing where the feet and legs do much of the work but the arms remain still the music is also generally traditional folk tunes but one group of young irishman is looking to bring irish dancing into the modern day and age. skilled irish dance with a modern twist and breathtaking location that's that's the recipe for the success of the irish dance company. but they're not really you know they're not. irish for friends and these 7 friends are even quinten ronan o'connell frances fallon seamus morrison brian culligan steven mcguinness and darren kelly. well irish dancing is what we do just want to show the rest of the world how good irish dancing can be especially when paired with modern music we're trying to bring it forward to a new audience and really show like what ireland can do and what we can do to irish dance as part of the national culture kargil choreographed to trending pop songs instead of celtic to us and we relaxed outfits instead of tailored uniforms their modern performances our unique blend of john rose. what we're trying to do is fuse jazz dancing tap dancing even hip hop with our own irish dancing to try and elevate a modern life irish dancing and really taken to a whole new level. it may look straightforward and simple to put it in up but it's the result of years of hard training all 7. started dancing at a very young age some have known each other for years from the country's dance competitions they learn the variations and techniques of irish stands almost from day one. irish dancing shoes are made out of leather and they also have a tape that is made out of ceramic and here that is made out of plastic and using these 2 pieces we can make a variety of different beat so you can make a click like that or you can make a sort of a more loud toadying be with your toe. they got the group together in 2020 but then the pandemic hit and they couldn't perform live so they began producing videos and posting them on the tick tocks social media site. yeah we do try to make our videos look a spontaneous and it was possible but really years of work is going to what we do takes over 15 years. that we've run a series the other. can often take 2 or 3 days to choreograph just a very short video. the dance company had their breakthrough and aug 2020 with this video it got almost 90000000 views and made social media sensation overnight. our lives changed like dramatically from the moment i had to talk to you we began to get recognized by some people in the streets we. read every newspaper every local radio station is really wanting to talk. about there's a sense of excitement that within the group is. a day. just. shelter now the company is based in a sleepy little town near galway among their fans are international stars like the colombian singer security to make it talent to dancers fairly 20 years old have been choir ease from all corners of the world they have a manager now but for the time just want to true are the words doing something that we absolutely love doing you know we're making viral videos out there and if we can show that up to a live audience and get the response just from them it would be absolutely amazing . a. traditional dance with a contemporary look. the new generation of irish dance. the birds of a feather flock together and it is precisely in these moments that danish photographer saren pulls out his camera the images he captures of starlings in flight look like giant creatures or even abstract paintings in the sky well what started out as a temporary project for this photographer has turned into a journey lasting several years. you wait for a week or 2 weeks nothing couple. but then within a few seconds everything changes and suddenly the sky explodes. it is one of the most exciting things i've ever experienced in my life. my name is sun sorcha i'm a danish photographer i photograph starting memory since some very fascinated by the shapes that make in the sky. the magic usually happens when the flock of starlings is attacked by birds of prey. as a defense mechanism they create these very organic shapes like these black waves going through the flock and actually it happens so quickly that you don't even realize sometimes what you've seen. the. difference land region in the north of the netherlands photographers opens like a has traveled here from denmark for his project black sun. i've worked in 6 different countries so far and so i do a lot of research to find out where the birds are. all i can do is research and turn up and then hope for the best. i've been out probably 120 days in the last 4 years and i've probably had between 5 and 10 very good nights. i saw starting memory since when i was a little kid my parents took me to the west coast at that mark when i was 10 that was an image that never left me really. and i did portraits for 25 years. i suddenly it came to me that i wanted to go back to to see those starlings and try to photograph them. and continues to make fortress as well he's taking photos of celebrities like any white house. down. the right stripes. and. portraiture has really been my specialty and something that i've been pretty obsessed with. i've completed it's 5 different books of portraits of mainly famous people the new project. that i've been. doing now for a while it's very different it's nature and. it's very humbling in a way it's. hard to museum of contemporary art in a danish city hanging is now showing his photos in a major exhibition. i haven't moved one single bird in photoshop in this project. its nature. and its nature at its most surreal. these magical moments occur by themselves in the nature. ritually you seem to read too hard to remember plan to exit it's like us photos of danish pop stars but the pictures of the black sun series made such an impression on him that he changed his plan we know what's going on we can explain it and at the same time we see something which is so incredibly beautiful that it is difficult to comprehend. because planned to spend one week with the starlings turned into a 4 year project. every picture is totally different i have not in 4 years experienced the same most have twice. so that gives me a great incentive to keep going and i'm far from done with this project i think i will keep going for a few more years. time now for a blast from the past and fans of the 1980 s. t.v. show knight rider may recognize this car. well this is the high tech talking trans am kit which always came to the rescue when artist has found a unique way to make a statement about the liberties which have been curtailed during this time his installations with mannequins like this one here have been popping up all over germany now we met up with the artist to find out more about this project. it's been hard to hide i saw it and immediately thought that it had something to do with corona or not so it would not. actually i thought that it was about discounts and so i got some stuff because of the color of the stick stuff and it's a group of people women children men and even animals everyone is master these days . so you don't recognize people anymore right good or bad it's colorful and that's why it brings joy to the heart and that's what we're missing. at 11 am right in front of cologne cathedral artist dennis josefa magic and his team set up $111.00 money came to this installation it is like it is a symbol for the corona pandemic and its social effects. represents the movement restrictions that we have during these corona times we can't do what we'd like to do and move around the way that we're used to especially in times of crisis we see how our lives can change and things we have taken for granted can suddenly become a thing of the past. the pedestrian area around the cologne cathedral is just one of the many places to stage his mannequins since the beginning of the pandemic last year they've already toured more than 30 german cities. placed in front of the. conquered. and occupied the old land bridge and. the fake is wrapped in red and white warning tape symbolize social distancing and the standstill of public life. even on the ski slope. limits of the mannequins come from different places for example from boutiques that have had to close their doors during the pandemic but also from a hobby hardware store that had to shut down so i was able to buy all the mannequins at a reasonable price messick studies it along a scene of a city of art to social sciences. he specializes in sculpture is made of materials such as wood which he works on with a chainsaw as well as metal constructions. it's a. it's like it is is his 1st public installation later this year a book of photographs on the project is to be published the manikins experience what many cannot join the pandemic. for example they go club and. hang out at bus to get. take a trip to the city. most recently that those were the only ones to celebrate the cologne comical as it had to be canceled to the regret of many just to give you an idea this is one of the places like. it's lucky that this touring installation can take place independently of temporarily close cultural institutions and it carries a message. of art and culture are also something for the mind you might not even consciously realize that it stimulates and inspires you mentally in different ways but you notice that you're lacking it somehow. in may dennis years if messick will be awarded the creator creativity prize in syria for this project and if conditions permit he plans to take his mannequins on tool to other countries. and with that we come to the end of the show now don't forget to check out our website with
