transmit. >> the state department says there are 500 more americans that need to be evacuated from china. we are learning how the 176 people, already living under quarantine at travis air force base, are spending the next two weeks. some families are talking about their experience on social media. many say they are glad to be back in the united states, and are well cared for with three meals per day and twice a day temperature checks. one man told reporters that his wife and their two young daughters have everything they need inside the west wind in. >> they brought diapers, baby food, baby wipes, and all of these things were supplied in the hotel on the air force base. one quarantined man, posted on instagram that he can walk around the hotel freely, and go outside. he cannot go beyond the temporary fence. if one of the people quarantine starts to feel sick, the cdc says they will be taken to a nearby house it'll and kept in isolation. the state department of public health says a lab in richmond is among 16 facilities that will soon be performing testing for the coronavirus. the officials say the lab will be able to test more quickly, and help shape medical care for those who have been exposed. the state says that lab testing should start by next wednesday. they will produce results within two days of getting a specimen. the annual chinese new year parade is set for the saturday night. while some communities have canceled events due to the fear of the coronavirus, san francisco is going full speed ahead. rob was there today as the city leaders addressed concerns. >> reporter: right here on pier 54 in san francisco, the flow makers are working methodically to have everything drilled, wired, decorated in time for saturday's lunar new year parade. they have 18 floats in all. >> we are on track. with the last-minute things we are taking care of.>> reporter: the parade through san francisco's chinatown does attract hundreds of thousands of people. it is the largest lunar new year parade outside of asia. this year, fear of the coronavirus looms over the celebration. the city leaders and public health officials are offering assurance is that there is no need to stay home and it is safe to attend the parade. >> people are concerned and fearful. the key thing to remember right now, there are no newly diagnosed cases of the coronavirus in san francisco. >> reporter: the department is working closely with the department of emergency manager, monitoring the virus. >> the department is working 24 seven for preparedness activities, working within nt a partners, and city agencies. we are ensuring that we are as prepared as possible. >> reporter: two patients from san benito county are being treated at ucsf. other cases are reported in santa clara county. >> the creation of the fear is unfounded. there are more people being hit by cars right now than people actually catching this. >> reporter: the coronavirus has sparked an anti-asian backlash on social media. there are reports that ridesharing drivers were refusing to pick up asian people at airports. >> we need to stand up and say, this is not acceptable. >> reporter: some businesses have both of them are due back in court on february 27. they are currently free on a $2 million bail. highway patrol are investigating more shootings in the east bay. one happened last night on interstate 880 in oakland. the other happened in fremont the night before. as henry lee tells us, there have been 263 freeway shootings in the bay area since 2015.>> reporter: shots fired, 20 miles apart on interstate 880, one of the busiest freeways in the bay area. drivers are on edge. >> i am afraid of my life, anybody's life good and coming through this area. >> reporter: the recent shooting happened at 10:20 wednesday night on the 23rd avenue on-ramp in oakland. the bullet shattered the driver side windows of a woman's chevy cavalier. four bullet holes were visible on the side of the car. the woman was not hurt. chp investigator search the freeway for shell casings and other evidence. the drivers had mixed reactions to the violence. >> there are a lot of misdirected people here in oakland. it is unfortunate. it really is. all we can do is pray. >> this is not normal around here. normally people will crash. they will do a hit and run. after the hit-and-run, it will lead to a shoot out. >> reporter: 24 hours earlier, another shooting at three clock in the morning on wednesday, on the on-ramp to 880 in fremont. the driver of the bmw may have been targeted by two cars that followed him from another location. after the shooting, the driver went to a fire station to get help. at this point, chp says there is not a connection between these two shootings. we have no motive in either shooting along interstate 880. of the 263 bay area freeway shootings since 2015, there have been 14 fatalities and more than 100 people hurt. in oakland, henry lee, ktvu fox2 news. the trial of john lee cowell continued. and officer explained how he unsuccessfully tried to save the life of nia wilson, after she was stabbed on the platform of the b.a.r.t. station in 2018. her mother, alicia grayson, and family members and friends, cried as the former officer described nia wilson's last moments. john lee cowell is charged with her murder, and attempted murder for stabbing her sister. new information about a killing in concord, the city's first homicide of the year, happening around 9:00 last night on tree boulevard near oak grove road. police have a suspect in custody. they tell us a 18-year-old harrison, was arrested for allegedly stabbing his own mother, elizabeth, to death. concord police that he called 911, saying voices in his head told him to kill her. the district attorney has charged with murder. the results of a big multicity operation, targeting human trafficking were announced today in santa clara county. the crackdown was meant to catch people involved in the illegal rings, and rescue women who have fallen victim to sex traffickers. the bay area has a high concentration of commercial sex. >> reporter: members of the sheriff's human trafficking task force displayed evidence from the statewide, operation rebuild and reclaim. during the last week in january, undercover agents targeted sex traffickers online, setting up meetings in a hotel. >> the detectives would respond to those ads, and set up a date for commercial sex. when the individual arrived, we would arrest them for solicitation of prostitution. >> reporter: 16 john's were arrested for soliciting prostitution. they arrested 36 road, isaac lee, from the sacramento area. investigator say that he recruited young women for sex trafficking, and kept them under his control, using drugs and intimidation. >> if they don't follow the rules, physical abuse is something that will be the result. >> reporter: president trump signed an executive order, creating a position within his domestic policy team, dedicated to fighting human trafficking. >> my administration is fighting these monsters, prosecuting them, and locking them away for a very, very long time. >> reporter: the power crews are working to repair the powerline. a judge has ordered them to answer questions about that line at a hearing later on this month. an endangered female gray wolf, that one or thousands of miles through northern california has died. the state fish and wildlife department says the wolf was found dead yesterday in shasta county. it is not known if she died from an accident, it is important to identify infections, probably, or those that could be infected promptly, before he or she spread the virus to other people. >> reporter: for more than a week, they collaborated with mammoth labs, to administer the test to a patient carrying the coronavirus on wednesday. the result is a way to detect the pathogen in a carrier in less time than it does now.:how long does it take now? >> currently, the only testing available that is a clinically validated testing is done by the cdc. it takes 4-6 hours to run this. the turnaround time to be 24 hours or longer to get a result. >> reporter: in an effort to heat up diagnosis, they said that they will distribute new test to diagnose the infections to state and international laboratories. the test have a lag time. >> they don't have the capacity of quarantine or isolating every patient that has a suspected infection. >> reporter: in wuhan, china, a newborn was found to be infected with the coronavirus, 36 hours after birth. in other parts of the city, mass quarantines have been ordered, in what seems like an uphill battle to curtail the pathogens. the test can be administered quickly, and cut down on who needs to be quarantined. dealing with the buyers where time is of the essence, the doctor will be depending on the fda, which has a program to fast-track approval of the test, to get into the hands of those that need it. >> we are interested in deploying this test, and making a widely available, not just in the united states, but to the regions of the developing world, or low resource countries. the department of public health in california is beating up detection of the coronavirus across the state. sky fox was over one facility in richmond. this is one of 16 laboratories across the way that
